IF I HAD 60 MIL.FOR ANOTHER SEASON THIER WOULD BE #4 I CANCELED HBO SHORTLY AFTER & SWORE NEVER WATCH HBO AGAIN. They very apparently care nothing for their viewership because they believe they can hold it captive.I dare another cable network to obtain the rights to continue producing Deadwood and allow all of us diehard fans to flip HBO the proverbial "bird.". Deadwood never ceased to amaze and engage this viewer.I was sorry to see it go without any resolution.But that, apparently, is how HBO roles. It became a remarkable tour de force for the wonderful cast, brilliant writers and a director who's obviously a little nuts and very much a genius. Remarkable This show became much more than just salty, edgy television. I rented every episode only to get burned when they left us hanging and never delivered the promised conclusion. And save for minor details, alot of this story holds true to the actual history.I recommend it not just for it's dramatic entertainment purposes (which were expertly executed.) But as a fun way to experience a way of life that helped shaped the world we live in, and one we'll never see again. Such dialogue I consider to be somewhat metaphorical for the series, story, and characters themselves: Fluid, Intelligent, and reasonably flavored with seasonings of it's unfashionable years.I did pretty extensive research on the history of these characters, and Deadwood itself. It's fluid and intelligent, peppered with swearing and fouler references. It's rough, gritty, and it hits home in honesty with it's general atmosphere, as one can only imagine it was like back during the 1860-70's gold rush.The dialogue is artfully drawn and can be appreciated on it's own with no scenic leverage of the screen required. By the time you reach season 3, you feel attached to even the the most grimacing characters.
